Boppy Pillows Linked to Infant Injuries and Deaths

Millions of women have questions and concerns about the ongoing Boppy pillow recall.

There’s a lot of opinions out there about the best products to use for your baby and family. A lot of times, you can take those opinions for just what they are – someone else’s opinion. But what about the opinion of experts? What happens when experts tell you that one of your favorite motherhood products is dangerous?

That’s what millions of women are facing right now after the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Boppy loungers and nursing pillows are linked to an increasing number of infant injuries and deaths.

Reason for Boppy Pillow Recall

According to the CPSC, babies that fall asleep on or in a Boppy pillow are at risk for suffocation on the soft fabric. If the baby rolls over, the fabric can cover their face and cause suffocation. Also, if the baby is sleeping in an inclined position, their head can slump forward, which can restrict the windpipe.

An analysis of government data shows that, between 2012 and 2018, at least 28 infants have died in loungers or nursing pillows, including some in Boppy pillows.
